To Every Woman in the World and the Men who Love Them,

My name is Sallie Ottavino Elkordy and I am running for Governor of NYS for the Women’s Party. If I can get 15,000 signatures in July/Aug 2006 and subsequently 50,000 votes for Governor in November 2006, the Women’s Party will be on the ballot for the Presidency of the United States in 2008!

This is a movement toward Peace. One which must go around the world in order to be completely effective.

We have a tiny window of opportunity to succeed (exactly July 11- Aug 17) because future elections may require 45,000 signatures, a tall order indeed.

The route I have chosen to take is the only way to create a political party (right now and until I can get 50,000 votes, the Women’s Party is a political committee which will appear on the ballot in 2006 for governor only if I can get the 15,000 signatures in July/Aug 2006).

It has taken since March 2003 to interview two hundred women about what is important to them so that a mission statement for the Women’s Party would reflect their concerns. Interviews were aired on public access television stations MNN & QPTV.

Our mission statement could include many more topics, but we have chosen five of the most oft repeated and comprehensive ones, which spell PEARL: Peace, Education, Activism, Respect, Love. All issues which come before the governor or any political official of the Women’s Party will be evaluated with a women’s perspective as will how the government spends the tax-payer’s money (it’s a good thing we can stretch a buck).

A woman’s sensibility is urgently needed and, as responsible citizens, this is the time we must take action. As women have not traditionally been in positions to make decisions at the highest levels, women must adjust to the prospect that their voices will not only be heard, but represented and acted upon. I have asked all the women I have interviewed, to pen legislation that affects their lives positively such that these bills can be enacted when the Women’s Party is in power. I ask you to consider a wrong which should be righted and to likewise do the same.

Children will be better served when women can make decisions and I urge you to do this for their sake. *What’s good for the goose is good for the goslings (and the gander if he’ll admit it)”.
